The College Station city council amended the vehicle code to allow bikes on Texas Ave. Vote was 6-1, only opposing member was Katie Marie Lyles, for safety reasons.

I don't know that this is a good idea. The reason for the law in the first place was because its a dangerous place for bikes - no shoulder or reserved bike lane. I think most bikers have sense to stay clear anyways, but there are some who think that because it's legal, it must be safe.
