Chet Edwards = No town hall meeting
I am angry that Chet Edwards won't come and listen to his constituents. What's wrong with coming out to listen to both sides of the issue? Just like most politicians, he forgot who he works for. He will definately NOT be getting my vote next election!
What's the deal with all these radio commercials (that I keep hearing on WTAW), from some electric company that is supporting Chet Edwards?
Apparently Chet is having a town meeting over the phone tonight. 200,000 people were chosen to participlate. I wonder how they were chosen. It seems questions will be screened as well, by an operator, and the question passed to Chet.
I wasn't one of the chosen.
I read that several people got the pre-call, saying that they would be called for the meeting, but never got the actual call. He had a town hall meeting tonight in Bryan, I think. I wonder how that turned out.
I listened off and on to the town meeting on the radio, while I was cooking. I was glad that Chet seemed open minded, and committed to reading the whole 1000+ pages of the bill. But still, some of his statements disturbed me.
In particular, someone asked where in the constitution was the goverment given power to regulate healthcare (paraphrased). He said he believed it was the interstate commerce clause. It seem to me that he implied that government has control of the people, rather than the other way around. I think that's really the big issue here - government has taken on a life of its own, and those who are in control think they know what's better for us than we do for ourselves.
Scary times.
